Scott Kerr has worked for over two decades with a variety of populations including children, adolescents, adults, families, couples, military veterans, first responders and their families, geriatric and retired populations, and offenders. Problems Scott can help guide people through include: PTSD, anxiety, depression, grief, difficult adjustments, relational issues, parenting, addictions, and self-esteem problems to list a few. Scott utilizes research-based protocols in his therapy including Eye Movement, Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Scott's approach is gentle, yet structured, individualized, and encouraging to help his patients see the greatest results in the shortest amount of time. His philosophy views every human being as having intrinsic worth apart from externals. External objects often draw our attention away from what is true and can cause us to embrace false, irrational belief patterns that can lead to more problems and unwanted symptoms. Learning to be aware of negative cognitions, facing them, and eventually letting them go, can greatly improve spiritual, physical, and emotional health.
